So you might be interested in joining Future Youth in the Diocese of Chichester?
When does it start?
It starts in September each year. If you're interested in applying to start in September 2024 then there is still time. Drop us and email to make contact and let us know you're interested because we'd love to work with you through the application process. You can email dan.jenkins@chichester.anglican.org to start the conversation. Just say something like, "Hey. I'm interested in Future Youth"
What does it cost?
It costs you nothing to join as a participant. In fact, the Diocese will offer you a living grant to help you out and we will work to find a place for you to live too...more information on these things below.
How do I apply?
We are committed to good safeguarding practice and the safer recruitment process will apply to Future Youth. You'll need to complete an application form, we need to collect references and we'll need to interview you. You will also need to complete a DBS check. You can download the application form from this website for starters, but please get in touch before submitting anything to us.
Where will my placement be?
You will have a placement with a church in this Diocese which already employs a youth and children's worker and has a well established youth and or children's ministry. There is some flexibility in this. If you have a specific church in mind we can explore that as an option if they meet our criteria.
Where will I live?
There are a couple of options. If you have a placement near to family, then you can continue to live with family, although we would recommend to get the most out of the year you take a step into a new place. If you do this then the Parish will provide you with accommodation, this will most likely be with a host family from the church who will take you in like a student and provide you with meals and your own bedroom.
What Financial support is there?
You will receive a grant of £50/week from the Diocese to support you whilst working at your placement work in your Parish. The year is 46 weeks Starting in September 2024 and running through until July 2025. Your accommodation and food will be provided. Your travel expenses will be covered as will all your course fees, residentials and retreats.
